Our Command Center

Hello everyone!

How are we doing today? Have you been crazy weather for January too?  This past week we have had rain for 3 days that melted off all the snow, then it turned around and froze then snowed! Everything became slick, and quite hazardous for everyone but especially to pregnant women!  However one thing I do love about this kind of weather is how it motivates me to bake and organize! Maybe its because the weather makes you want to stay indoors and those two activities are perfect indoor activities!

Well I have been working on cleaning off my dinning table again! I have known for some time now I really need an efficient command center. A place for things to land instead of on my table. Its a pet peeve of mine to have things piling up on my table and then the hubby is always wondering where things are. I wish I could blame him fully for the state of all this, but he is usually pretty good about getting things in a spot once I have asked him to put it there.

SO this one is all on me. I have not set up and introduced an effective command center, so naturally everything gravitates to the table, a solid open space.  I have put off getting a command center and organizing other things because I keep thinking I don't have all the things I need yet to make the project work... clearly a procrastinating technique and a poor excuse.  What I keep failing to realize is I have been planning this whole get organized thing for ages now.  Every time I have been at the store and saw something helpful and just the right price I would pick it up.  I actually have a ton of organizational stuff floating around my house that just needs to find a home and be put to use already!

Well no more excuses! Time to get this bad boy done! I started pinning command centers that I liked for inspiration. Here are a few that I really liked:
I really loved this one

I knew that baskets or slots and a big board of some kind were going to be important to me based off of the pictures I chose.  I kept worrying about making this all work though. I guess in a small way I was intimidated. Look at these pictures! They are perfect! So functional. I was afraid I couldn't get mine to turn out that way.  All that kept running thru my head was, How do I organize it so that it flows with what we do? I finally had to tell my self to just do it, try it, and you will figure it out. Some times I really hate how I think. I like to have things fully formed before I get them going to know the end result. But clearly I am delusional and need medical help, because how many times in life do things come fully formed before you give them a go? Like NEVER.

My goal to completing my command center was to use things I already had in my house. I did not want to go to the store and buy a thing! I found a large cork board that we had bought over a year ago...

 And wall hanging file bins...
I love Target
After hanging these guys up I knew I wanted a coat rack to go below them. I had this long board on hand and some extra coat hooks lying around. They just needed a little paint.

So in just one afternoon... it didn't even take me all day I don't know why I put it off for so long...I had a Command Center!

I love how it looks! And remember this?
Well I moved him from his place over my dinning room window to over the cork board to tie in with the coat rack! Its perfect!  It still needs some tweaking. Obviously the cork board is empty for now. I need to see how notes go up there and see how its best to make sections on the board. I am thinking of buying some Washi tape and using it to make sections.  One of the bins will be used to coral mail. the other I am thinking I will make up some files for bills to be kept in.  I will have to update you on all that later. In the mean time I can scratch  a command center off my list of To Do's. And now maybe my dinning room table can stay clean!

Have you finished any much needed projects around your home that you were procrastinating needlessly on doing?  Hope you have a great day

Till Next Time,

Amanda

Blogger's A.D.D

Hello Everyone!

How has your week been? Mine has been like a non stop flight of activity, only with out the relaxing movie or cocktails in which to enjoy my flight with. This is why I have not posted anything this week.  I feel like I have bloggers A.D.D. Is such a thing even possible?? Simply put I feel my mind wanting to go everywhere and talk about  everything.  I have new crafting projects I want to share with you. I have knitting that's been completed. There are link up parties I am attending. The list goes on and on...but now I have lost you right? What on earth is this girl rambling on about. Because that is probably what I sound like right? Like I am rambling or babbling.

I feel that about every other post I write is about something different.  While that is not a bad thing, I feel like things just do not flow very well. Thus the feeling like I have A.D.D. Can't seem to focus longer that a flea on a hot skillet.  This could be all in my head for all I know.  Hey! The title of this Blog says I'm crazy don't ya know. Well I am sorry. I do want to regain focus and be a bit more orderly with my posts, so you don't get dizzy from my constant shift in attention. (You think the posts are bad try being in my head!)

So here is a list of things I feel I need to address, to regain order.
  • What happened to the 21 day challenge?
  • Will I actually talk about knitting again?
  • Whats up with all the home improvement posts?  Did I suddenly become a Design Diva?
Heehee. These questions I ask just as much of myself as you may be asking of me...
  1. What happened to the 21 Day Challenge I was doing from A Bowl Full of Lemons?- I haven't stopped or quit the 21 Day Challenge. I didn't make the goal, however, to complete the challenge by the end of May! Life happened. There have been quite a few of our family members who have been ill.  Also since I ended up going a little out of order with the challenge(see I knew I shouldn't have done that!), I decided to roll what was left of everything on the challenge into ONE. HUGE. PROJECT!!! Its taken a while, but that's how badly it needed to be done!  Its very close to being revealed in all of its glory!  Had I been smart, I would have posted little tidbits to keep you hanging onto the edge of your seat for the big reveal!  Alas I did not. I will know better for next time. After all I am still learning how to work my mad blogging skills! Despite this little lump in the 21 Day Challenge, I have been so grateful to Toni for creating that challenge.  What I have accomplished so far is all due to her. I needed to get organized and get clutter cleared out.  And really the 21 days is just the beginning. Organizing like home development or personal style is always evolving and needing to be adjusted.  So keep on the look out there will be a few more posts yet on the 21 Day Challenge. Oops! Now that I think about it, I do believe there was a Laundry Room challenge that I failed to post about! I will have to get right on that!
  2. Will I actually talk about knitting again?- This question I ask myself all the time. Especially here of late when my posts have seemed to be more about home improvement, decorating, and gardening instead of what I had originally said I wanted to Blog about (Here) in my very first post.  Why is that?  I have wondered.  Its not like I have lost an interest in knitting, far from it. And I have finished projects in which to share, new patterns I am excited about. So what's the deal? Upon reflection, I think the problem has stemmed from what my initial ideal for what my blog would be when I started(I am willing to bet all the chocolate in my house, that this is something that happens to all new bloggers). When I thought about and decided to start this blog, I had this vision that it would be very much like Susan B Anderson's Blog, or like the Yarn Harlot. I have admired their work ever since I became a knitter and very much wanted to be like them. I AM NOT THEM. Admitting to this helps clear up a lot of that illusion that I had. First off they have been at this for a while, so they are PROS and know what they are doing. I am like an infant to them. Also they have the wonderful privilege of getting to do what they LOVE for their employment! Along with that privilege comes a lot of responsibility of course but they do it with style! I DO NOT get to do knitting or any other crafting for a living. I still have to go out there and work for an employer, then come home and take care of the responsibilities of a wife and homemaker. So its like working two full time jobs. Not to say that Stephanie and Susan don't have these same responsibilities and then some because they do what they love for work. Just that it is a little different. Someday I dream of being able to make a living at my craft, but for now it is my stress relief and hobby.  Now that I have admitted and realized what I had originally in mind for my blog, I can see that I was starting out to high! I think a part of me knew that from the beginning, that's how the Blog got its name from the beginning. I love doing crafts and trying to new things. That's what I want to write about and share with you. The new things that I try, my success, my failure and everything in between. There will be plenty of writing on yarn and knitting, it just wont be that way everyday.
  3.  Whats up with all the home improvement posts?  Did I suddenly become a Design Diva?- In no way am I a Design Diva! However I do love design and making my home something to be proud of.  I have been a fan of Better Homes and Gardens since I was 7!  I always knew, just like I knew I wanted to get married, that I wanted my own home to make beautiful! So it is only natural that I would want to talk about it. Especially since there are sooo many great design blogs out there, plus with Pinterest, the ideas are never ending for what one can do in your home! And your style and tastes are always changing. Plus you get an idea in your head for something but when it actually gets put into action, it doesn't turn out so good. So you have to start over. And since a lot of what is in my home is actually the result of some craft I have done(a shoe string budget would have something to do with that), the two just seem to go hand in hand.
Whew! That was a lot to cover, sorry for the novel length post here(hopefully I am keeping it snappy enough I have not lost you! Hey you! Ya you! Quit that yawning!).  I hope my answers to those questions helped clear things up, and if it didn't clear things up for you it did for me. So you just got to be privy to the inner ramblings of my mind! Aren't you just lucky?! Now that I have given you a look into my mind and what all is going on up there, what IS next for Crazy, Crafty & Caffeinated?  What do we have to look forward to?

Its summer! And summer means fun and lots of goings on! One thing I am looking forward to doing is the Bloggy Olympics created by Janel at Hating Martha. I am so excited. Hating Martha has been running decorating posts all week with some great hosts for the first event that starts off the Bloggy Olympics. Friday is the link up and I look forward to sharing my own projects, plus checking out what everyone else has been doing. The next few weeks will primarily  be dedicated to the Bloggy Olympics!

HatingMartha
I hope to see more updates on the yard and how its coming along. After all this is the season to be getting that done!  There will be a Blog Makeover coming very soon. I am learning more and more everyday about the blogging world and well I need to reflect that. Speaking of a Blog Makeover I want your opinion...What do you like about my blog? What don't you like? What would you like to see more of or to hear more about?  Your comments and ideas can only help improve me! So lay it on me!

One last note, I want to thank my readers for staying with me thus far. Have a Wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Till Next Time,
Amanda

Rub a dub tub...

Hello Everyone!

I can knock off two more things on that challenge list!  While I was cleaning today I took a few extra minuets in the bathroom to take care of the medicine cabinet and under the sink. It was nothing spectacular and only took me about 20 mins.

Here is the Medicine Cabinet:
It needed to be cleaned more than anything. Of course I wanted to dress it up a bit, but time and money are working against me this week.  I will have to save that for another time. This is something like how I want my cabinet to look.
Courtesy of BHG.com
I want to find some cute paper and put it on the back of my cabinet I also want to find a picture or something that I can cover the cabinet with. Now for under the sink...
I already had corralled a lot of my things into baskets and storage containers. So it just needed a good cleaning and a small touch up. Now its all clean.
I have my hair dryer and hair straightener in the basket to the left I have all my hair product in that blue basket. My makeup bag next to it. All other bathroom essentials like nail polish, makeup remover, cough and cold medicine, extra tooth paste and brushes sit in this lovely storage box that I scored at Wal-mart for $3 on sale.

That's it. Told you it wasn't too spectacular but its clean and orderly. I guess we can't have glitter and glam all the time. Now on to working on the big project! I will fill you in on that later.

Till Next Time,
Amanda

I now pronounce the kitchen done!

Hello Everyone!

How was everyone's weekend? I forgot to ask that in my last post yesterday. I was looking ahead at the next few challenges on Toni's blog and I saw that there were several on the kitchen coming up. Like the pantry, fridge, freezer, and spice cabinet. Well since my last post was on clearing up the counter and shelf that divides my kitchen and living room I thought I would stick with the kitchen theme and get the rest of the challenges involving the kitchen done and out of the way.

First on the list is the pantry.  My pantry is also not ideal. But I think you may have guessed that was coming from the other posts where I have mentioned I am not in my dream kitchen. However its is what I have and so what I have must be organized. Here is what my pantry looked like before.

BEFORE
Everything was just crammed in there. Very hard to find anything. Not exactly helpful to doing meal planning. As per the routine I pulled everything out and took inventory.  It looks so much better now.  Its still a deep deep cupboard and that makes it hard to get it just the way I want it. I prefer shallower cupboards for a pantry.  Then you can't stock to much and you can see exactly what you have and know when you have run out of and item. Some day in the future I will do a kitchen remodel that I will be all to happy to share with you.
AFTER
Now the rest of the kitchen challenges are pretty easy because they are all ready done! I can't show you any before pictures because I don't have any. But I can show you current photos of how I have already organized and maintained my Fridge, Freezer and Spice Cabinet.
Freezer

Fridge

Spice Cabinet

Baking cupboard

The fridge and freezer looks a little sparse but there are only two people living in this house so I don't keep much on hand.  I believe I can now finally call the kitchen done, at least as far as being organized.  There is still a lot of style to be added to this kitchen. But that is a story for another time. What have you done in your kitchen lately? Have you made any tweaks to it lately, or have you gone and done a complete overhaul?

Till Next Time,
Amanda

Under the Sea, er Sink?

Hello Everyone,

Here I am with the long awaited post.  Hope you are all having a great start to the weekend. What are your plans?  Today's challenge was Day 5 Under the Sink.  This challenge was relatively simple for me. Yeah! I like that I am getting something simple. In fact I didn't even clean under the sink, because well it is already in pretty good shape. I know there I go again breaking or bending the rules. But I am forming a habit and that's what matters right?

Instead of doing under the sink. I chose to concentrate on my counter that divides the kitchen and living room. It has become yet another dumping ground for junk to accumulate. Also it has an odd shelf right on the end. They are tiny, no more that two inches in width. Its a hard space to work with. However with a little tweaking I think I may finally have this space in order.  Here is what is looked like before with all the junk surrounding it. All this small stuff didn't seem to have a home. It was starting to encroach upon the area where I do my prep work for meals and baking, making doing either of those things a nightmare. Out all of it came, I wiped everything down and now this is what I have as an end result...

I love how clean and crisp everything looks now. As you can see from the above photo I found a great use for those shallow shelves on the end of my counter. They hold my cookbooks perfectly, which I love because I am a visual person, so if something is out in the open I am more apt to use it.
Not to long ago I was reading Megan's blog Honey We're Home, on her post about their breakfast bar. I was inspired by what she did, and wanted something similar for myself. I had the zebra tray already along with the little yellow box. I figured why couldn't I put my coffee pot and Coffee bean canister on the tray along with the coffee filters in the yellow box.  I love the way it came together!  The zebra print is clashing a bit with the theme in the kitchen and the new theme in the living room, so I am now in the market for some great coordinating fabric that I can recover the tray with.

That wraps up day 5. Have a great weekend everyone!

Till Next Time,

Amanda

K.I.S.S.

Hello Everyone,

How has your week been?  Good? Bad? Exciting? Exhausting? A little of everything. Mine has been quite productive. So much so that I haven't even taken a little time to sit down and write to you all about it(I know shame shame. I will try not to overwhelm you now).  When I first sat down to write this post out to you, I didn't know how to gather my thoughts or what to say to express my feelings. I felt stuck in a wordless moment. Then while I was reading along in my Google reader, hoping the juices would start flowing, I found the answer to my feelings. Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick hit it exactly on the head.  She was having a moment, just like I have been having a moment too.   I felt like my life was more stressful than it had to be, because I was not organized. I couldn't find my paper work, the house looked like a constant disaster zone(Sarah talks about this in her post. I highly recommend you check it out). I needed some help.  What I am trying to say is that I have hopes of  gaining some structure with this organizing challenge.  I am not all the way there yet. However I am starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

There was a saying I heard off of HGTV one time that has always stuck with me. The Designer on the show said whenever you are doing design in your home, or anything really, think K.I.S.S.  Keep It Simple Stupid. WOW! So simple and so important. Any time I start to feel overwhelmed with tasks around the house, I think of this saying and its like I am instantly calmed down. My brain tends to like to run away from me with wild and crazy ideas and before I know it I have complicated things when they didn't have to be. So K.I.S.S is what kept running thru my head as I did the next series of the 21 day challenge.

I ended up doing a combo of Day 4, Day 6 and Day 19 all into one! I got really zealous on Tuesday, having a day off from work and I wanted to break thru and get some stuff accomplished. It made more sense to spend my time doing the Linen closet, the Dresser Drawers and The Master closet because they are all in the same room(I know I said I wasn't going to go out of order but I just couldn't help myself on this one. I was already in the closet working on the linen self it seemed ridiculous not to do the rest of the closet too!).  My house being small and not a whole lot of shelf space readily available I actually turned one of the shelves in my closet into the linen shelf. Which works out fine because I don't have a whole lot linen anyway. Lets get to the before shots. Are you prepared for what you are about to see? No really. You may want to grab a chair and have a seat before you scroll down any further.
The Master Closet BEFORE:

You might remember seeing this picture from my Day 1 post, as I cleaned the floor of the closet for my project. Right now the linen shelf doesn't even exist. Its completely over run by shirts and some books.  Here is what the dresser top and drawers looked like.

You can barely see the TV and DVD player that is on top of the dresser and the drawers are so crammed in there everything comes out a wrinkled mess. To say that I am ashamed is understatement. I would get one large scolding from my mama if she were to see the state of those drawers.  You know the drill by now, out everything came.
I got so lost into the cleaning and sorting that this was the only picture I snapped of everything before I set to put everything away. Seeing it cleared of everything was great. I really need to paint those cupboards. The whole room really, but that is a different project for another day. Remember K.I.S.S.  I weeded thru the clothes that were on the shelves and in the drawers. I got rid of two large trash bags of clothes. Stuff that we did not like or did not fit went into that bag. Its going to Goodwill. Now for the great reveal. I am so happy with how it turned out.
The Master Closet and Lined Shelf AFTER:
I found the green bins at Target for just $2 a piece. My clothes now hang by color.  The curtains I found at Walmart in the clearance section for $7 a pop. They are just the perfect pop of color that the room needed.
Dresser Top AFTER:

I absolutely love how the dresser top came out. The receipts got booted out to be sorted in the office and filed away.  Notice something missing? The TV and DVD player! They were not being used, so I moved them to my craft room. By doing that I cleared up space to put down my mirrored tray that I got at Target on sale for $11 five months ago. Now my perfume and bracelet holder have a pretty place to sit, with my earrings near by. The little box I also got at Target for $1(don't you just love Target?) its the perfect place for Dear Husband to land his things when he comes home in the evening. The flowers I got from my mama. I didn't have the room to keep them in my room before, but with this little round up I finally have  a place to put them.  The drawers shaped up nicely too.
Whew! Are you as tired as I am from all that? Now all the room needs is a little paint and I think we can call it complete! So I am scratching off Day 4, Day 6 and Day 19 off my list. Tomorrow it will be Day 5 and Day 7. And it will be tomorrow even if it kills me! Have a great night.

Till Next Time,
Amanda

The Challenge of completing Challenge #3

I kind of feel like I was plucked off the surface of the earth. Each time I tried to even think about sitting down to write up this post, something would happen. I had to dash out the door on never ending errands, Dear Husband needed me to track down something, I finally got around to taking care of my name change and driver's license fiasco(yeah!! doing my little happy dance for a I am able to drive again), oh and not to forget that I had to go to work too. Some how in all that mess I did manage to do challenge number 3- The Tupperware Cupboard. I actually did start this bad boy on Monday I just didn't get to finish till yesterday. I feel like I am heading more towards the 21 Weeks Challenge instead of 21 days. Hopefully with some of the big things out of the way this week I can actually get on track(again). I digress, on to today's post.

I have a small kitchen. Really small. OK probably not as small as some kitchens in say Europe, but its considerably smaller than the last few kitchens I have had. So much so that I actually had the problem of trying to figure out where I was going to put things and make them fit. In my last two houses I had so much kitchen I had empty cupboards. My kitchen is not the best designed in my opinion. I know I am not an architect but I have to function in this kitchen and its not making the cut. I have about the right about of cupboards, but only four little drawers in the whole kitchen! I had the hardest time getting my silverware and other utensils to fit. And the one spot that is considerable in size, to hold pantry items is awful. The cabinets are too deep to be truly effective, so it kinda becomes the black hole of cupboards. However till I can get my dream kitchen, which looks like these photos, I have got to make due.
You might notice a theme here with these kitchens. I want light and airy and openness with my kitchen. I really can't wait to obtain a very similar look.  In the mean time though, I am so glad for Day 3's challenge. There has been one particular cupboard that has been in desperate need of an overhaul.

BEFORE
This cupboard had become the dumping ground for things I use, but not very often, in the kitchen. Its been an eye sore and I have needed to get to it for some time now. As per protocol I pulled everything out.

Here you can see what I was talking about above. This space could be really great if it wasn't so deep and the shelves structured the way they are. Its very hard to fit things in there because the openings are so, well square. I am happy to say there wasn't anything I had to donate or toss. When we first moved into our house I went thru everything as I unpacked(since the kitchen was so small). If I had doubles of anything, or I didn't swoon at the sight of it out it went. So I just needed to corral things and move some things to better more suitable places. I am a very visual person. If I don't see something out in the open then I tend not to use it. Thus my love for open shelving. The way I see it is open shelving helps keep you simple, clean and honest. With this in mind I moved my cookbooks to a little shelf  out in the open so I will be motivated to use them more.
AFTER
Here is the after photo. Oh so much better(I know this should not be a surprise). I bought a lid rack for my pot lids, used a a butter danish cookie can to hold my kitchen towels, a basket to hold my potatoes, and a cookie sheet to hold my flour can, rolling pin, and small serving plate. I think this will actually stay clean and organized for a long while. It seems pretty hard to mess it up. I just need to make up some labels, and redo the danish cookie can up in some pretty paper.

So lets see this transformation again....
Now time for challenge 4-The Linen Closet. This should be interesting, since I actually have to make one from scratch.
Till Next Time,
Amanda

P.S. I realize that it doesn't look like I did a Tupperware cupboard, and in a way I didn't. I have a Tupperware drawer and it was already orderly, this was the next closest thing.

Showin' off my Junk- Day 1 and 2

Hello Everyone!!!

Here I am already on the second day of the 21 day challenge to becoming organized and I already feel I might be slipping over the edge(the fact that I am on day 2 and need to combine it with day 1 might just be proving my point). Perhaps I am over analyzing it a bit. After all this is a challenge to get me organized, I am obviously not starting out that way other wise this would not be a challenge now would it?

I was so excited to get this challenge started yesterday that the night before I actually had a hard time sleeping, for thinking of the junk drawer I was going to tackle. Then I realized I don't have a junk drawer. Its more like Junk Corners and Floors and piles!
Horrifying isn't it?? I agree. I am mortified. This is proof right here that I NEED Toni's 21 Day Challenge!!  Honestly I am expecting Toni to pass out or track me down with a team of professionals from HGTV or TLC trailing behind her, after seeing the above photo!  Its awful! In a pitiful defense, it hasn't been that long since we moved into our home. However long enough that none of those photos should exist.  The above collage was collected after I did day 1 of the challenge.  See when I  realized that I have actually been pretty good about not having a junk drawer, I found that I had gained that victory in exchange for an explosion of junk everywhere else but in a drawer! Are you starting to see where professional help might actually be needed. However this is my mess and so  I gotta fix it. It may be that I will have to do a 40 day organize challenge! LOL.

Anyway on to what I did accomplish.

DAY 1:

BEFORE
Here is one of my Junk Floors and what I had time to tackle. Its part of our closet and had become a dumping ground. Shoes, bags, even a vase of flowers that no longer has a place in my room, a back pillow I like to use when I watch TV in bed. All of this stuff was starting to crowed the walk way getting to the closet and bed. Not exactly conducive to a good peaceful sleep or a great flowing daily routine. So out it all came.
The closet was starting to hoard dog hair in order to produce another dog exactly like ours! After cleaning the floor and shutting down the science lab in there, I put most of everything back in an orderly fashion.
AFTER
That is a lot better. Not perfect. But better. I really want to find a better place to put the decorative pillows for the bed at night, than the basket they are currently in. Where do you guys keep your fancy decorative bed pillows when you sleep at night?  Frankly I want to redo the whole closet. But that is not till Day 12. So till then it will wait(I'm sure Toni doesn't have a firm rule about when I actually get this done. But I am trying to form a new habit and I just feel like if I break out of line here where else will I start bending things??)

Now for DAY 2:

Day 2's challenge is to clean off the Computer Desk. Or where ever your desk may happen to reside. My computer currently resides on the Dinning room table. I am not happy about that. But I have not had the chance taken the time to get myself a proper work space set up. It is on my TO DO LIST.
BEFORE
The table seems to be more of a dumping ground than a place to have a nice home cooked meal. Taking a hard look at this space, I realize I am in need of a better system. I need to get a command hub started in this house. And preferably not the table, which is the current system. The table is a logical place I know. Its the first large surface you come upon when you enter our home. So naturally everything gravitates to it. The mail gets dumped here, Dear Husband loves to use it to work on his scheduling and other paper work. Its no wonder then why it looks like this. However with a command hub that incorporates our tendency to do this it can  go from looking like the above photo and look more like this:
AFTER

Oh soooooo much better. Now I can actually think. My side assignment with this challenge is to get my command hub set up, so that my table and can stay this way forever(along with tackling those other junk corners)! I will keep you posted on my side assignment.

I am ready to get to day 3. It might be a few days for that( I know that feels like breaking the rules, but I think Toni would understand this one. I have to go out of town for a couple of days for a funeral.)

Till next time
Amanda

You know I noticed during my morning routine of blog reading, that I am not the only one with the Organization Bug. Sherri from Young House Love has the fever and is doing a little weekly challenge herself. You should really check it out. And I am still head over heels in love with Jen's Blog.  I loved her posts on paper clutter and what she does to nip that in the bud.
